Sinopse

Dick Ferdinand Swaab, award-winning Dutch medical neurobiologist, professor of neurobiology at the University of Amsterdam, until 2005 he was Director of the Dutch Institute the Royal Academy’s Brain Research from Arts and Sciences of the Netherlands, says that homosexuality would be linked directly to a change in composition hormonal and brain formation by cause of stress, smoking and ingestion other drugs during pregnancy. He says: “Pregnant women who suffer from stress are more likely to give birth to homosexual babies because elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol affect the production of fetal sex hormones.”.

For Dick Ferdnand Swaab, sexuality is determined in the womb and cannot be changed. Contrary to the position of most researchers in the same field, he says:
“Although we often hear that the development after birth as well it affects sexual orientation, there is no absolutely no scientific proof of this.”.

Will you, Dick, be right?

How Freud stood up homosexuality and, by extension, the bisexuality? In fact, with more than 22,794 citations in journals, 60 awards and 710 published articles, Ivan Izquierdo is the most cited neuroscientist and one of the most respected in Latin America; he currently coordinates the Memory Center of the Brain Institute of PUC-RS. Izquierdo says that psychoanalysis does not serve as a therapeutic and that it is only an aesthetic exercise.

Is it, Izquierdo, right?

Burrhus Frederic Skinner said: “The concept of mind is a human invention and not a discovery.”.

For Skinner, there is no such thing as a “human mind”, so he proposed a line of psychology that became known as radical behaviorism, fixating on something observable.

Is there or not, “human mind”?

These and other issues are addressed in detail in this book, allowing the reader to reflect with the necessary information and thus draw their own conclusions.
